DIGITAL STRATEGY

A Tūhoe Education Authority, Ministry and Waikato University information technology initiative is underway. It will enable remote Tūhoe schools to use broadband and video-conferencing and connect the entire Tūhoe rohe to an information technology infrastructure.
An achievement database was developed for Tūhoe schools who agreed to share data across the rohe and monitor progress. The database has been adapted to ensure its continued relevance to a range of assessment types and practices.
The Digital Strategy (Computers in Homes programme (Year 2000) saw computers and training made available to 200 families. Victoria University research revealed the programme impacted favourably on the participating families. Currently two schools are running a computer in homes programme which consists of four modules all aimed at promoting whānau and hapū engagement with the schools
